How it works
Upload your GIF files
Drop in one file or a whole batch — dimensions and file size show up instantly.
Resize if needed
Keep the original resolution or scale it down — transparency is kept automatically.
Download
Grab a single PNG directly, or select multiple and download them together as a ZIP.
Clean, lossless PNGs from your GIFs
Batch conversion
Add any number of .gif files and convert them all in one pass.
Transparency preserved
PNG supports an alpha channel, so any transparent areas in your GIF stay transparent.
Lossless output
PNG uses lossless compression — no quality is lost and colours aren't limited to a 256-colour palette.
First-frame extraction
For animated GIFs, the first frame is converted into a single static PNG.
Optional resizing
Keep the original resolution, scale down by a percentage, or cap output to a maximum width.
Runs entirely on-device
Every file is read and converted locally in your browser. Nothing is ever uploaded or stored anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
Why convert GIF to PNG?
PNG gives you a sharp, lossless still image with the same transparency GIF supports, but without the 256-colour limit — useful when you need a clean static image rather than an animation.
What happens to animated GIFs?
Only the first frame of an animated GIF is converted. PNG doesn't support animation, so if you need every frame you'll want to extract frames with a dedicated tool first.
Can I convert multiple GIF files at once?
Yes. Add as many .gif files as you like, convert them together, and download each PNG individually or grab them all at once as a ZIP.
Is transparency preserved?
Yes. Unlike JPG, PNG supports transparency, so any transparent areas in your GIF stay transparent in the converted file.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. Every GIF file is read and converted locally in your browser. Nothing is ever uploaded, transmitted, or stored anywhere.
