Frequently asked questions
What size should an X (Twitter) post image be?
A landscape image at 1600×900 (16:9) is the recommended size and displays fully in the timeline without cropping. Square (1080×1080) and portrait (1080×1350) images work well too, though the timeline preview may crop tall images slightly.
Why are there different aspect ratios to choose from?
X supports several image shapes in posts. Landscape (16:9) is the safest choice for showing the whole image uncropped in feed previews; square and portrait are common for photography or portrait-oriented content.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
