Pinterest recommends a 1000×1500 pixel image, a 2:3 ratio, since tall Pins get the most visual space in the feed compared to square or wide images.
Why is the shape so tall?
Pinterest's feed is a scrolling grid of columns, and taller images take up more vertical space as people scroll, which tends to make a Pin more noticeable.
Should I crop my photo or keep the whole thing?
Turning off "Fill frame" keeps every pixel of your original photo and adds letterboxing if the aspect ratio doesn't match. Turning it on crops the photo to exactly fill the 1000×1500 Pin with no bars.
Can I use a square or landscape photo for a Pin?
Yes. Use the zoom slider to reframe any photo into the tall 2:3 shape, or turn off "Fill frame" to keep the whole image with letterboxing above and below.
