Why do you show a circle overlay?
YouTube crops every channel icon into a circle wherever it's shown. The dimmed corners mark what gets trimmed away, so you can keep your face or logo inside the visible circle.
Should I crop my photo or keep the whole thing?
Turning off "Fill frame" keeps every pixel of your original photo and adds letterboxing if the aspect ratio doesn't match. Turning it on crops the photo to exactly fill the 800×800 square with no bars.
