Privacy Policy

The short version: your files never leave your device. Here's the full version.

Last updated: July 20, 2026

At a glance

Your photos, images, and documents are processed entirely in your browser and are never uploaded to our servers.

We don't require an account, so we don't hold a profile of personal information tied to your file activity.

We use limited, privacy-respecting analytics to understand traffic — never your file contents.

We don't sell personal data, and we don't have advertising partners reading the files you work with.

1. Your files never leave your device

Every tool on ImageResizer.dev — every converter, resizer, compressor, and document tool — runs client-side, inside your own browser. When you drop in or select a file, it's read directly from your device's storage using standard browser APIs (like the File API and Canvas), processed in memory, and handed back to you as a download.

At no point in that process is the file content sent over the network to us or to any third party. There is no upload step for us to intercept, and no server-side copy for us to store, back up, or accidentally expose. If our servers went offline entirely, the tools would keep working exactly the same, because they don't depend on one.

2. Information we do collect

Because no account is required to use any tool, we hold very little information about you personally. What we do collect falls into two categories:

  • Basic web analytics. Standard, aggregated data such as which pages are visited, approximate location at a country or region level, device/browser type, and referring site. This helps us understand which tools are useful and where the site breaks. It is not tied to file content, since we never see the files at all.
  • Technical logs. Our web server, like virtually all web servers, automatically logs basic request metadata (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent) for security and reliability purposes — for example, detecting abuse or diagnosing outages. These logs are retained only as long as needed for that purpose and are not used to build a profile of you.

If you contact us directly (for example, by email for support), we'll have whatever information you choose to include in that message, which we use solely to respond to you.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a minimal set of cookies or local storage entries to remember your tool preferences (like your last-used quality or resize setting) so the site feels more convenient on return visits. These are stored on your device and are not used to track you across other websites.

If we use a third-party analytics provider, that provider may set its own cookies to distinguish unique visitors and measure aggregate usage. You can block or clear cookies at any time through your browser settings; doing so won't affect your ability to use any of the image tools.

4. Advertising and third parties

If this site displays advertising to support the cost of hosting it for free, those ads are served by third-party ad networks according to their own privacy policies. We don't share your file content with advertisers — again, because we never have access to it ourselves. Any ad personalization is limited to what standard ad-network cookies collect, and you can typically opt out of personalized ads through your browser or device settings, or through the ad network's own opt-out tools.

5. How we use the information we have

The limited data described above is used only to:

  • Keep the site running reliably and securely
  • Understand which tools are popular so we can improve or expand them
  • Diagnose bugs, performance issues, or abuse
  • Respond to support requests you send us

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles beyond what a third-party ad network may independently do through its own cookies, as described above.

6. Data retention

Since your files are never uploaded, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on that front — the moment you close or navigate away from a tool, any in-memory copy of your file is gone. Server request logs are kept only for a limited period sufficient for security and operational purposes, after which they are deleted or aggregated beyond individual identification.

7. Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the tools require no account or personal information to use, there is minimal personal data collected from any user regardless of age.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. Given how little personal data we hold — no accounts, no uploaded files, no persistent profiles — most requests can typically be resolved simply by clearing your browser's cookies and local storage for this site. For anything else, or if you'd like to make a formal request, contact us using the details below.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in the site, the tools we offer, or legal requirements. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page occasionally.
