Why do you show dimmed bands at the top and bottom?
WhatsApp overlays its own interface — your name and the time near the top, a caption field and reply bar near the bottom — on top of every status photo. The bands mark roughly where that UI sits, so you can keep faces and text clear of it.
Should I crop my photo or keep the whole thing?
Turning off "Fill frame" keeps every pixel of your original photo and adds letterboxing if the aspect ratio doesn't match. Turning it on crops the photo to exactly fill the 1080×1920 frame with no bars.
Will WhatsApp compress my photo further?
Yes, WhatsApp applies its own compression on upload regardless of the file you send. Starting from a clean, correctly-cropped 9:16 image gives that compression the best source to work with.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
